My First Post!

Since my mom has a blog, I figured I'd start one as well! I'm not sure how many, if any will read this blog, but this will just show life through the eyes of The Teenager. Exciting, I know! Hope you enjoy my writings...

About me, well for starters, I'm Meggie. I am fifteen, almost sixteen, and DEATHLY afraid of driving. I'm sure many of you have seen my mother beg for prayers because we need them! I'm a sophomore in high school, and I absolutely hate it. I realize the word 'hate' is a strong word, but it describes it perfectly. For all those that say high school is the best four years of your life, I have to disagree. I have a handful of people who I actually consider to be my friends, the others are just fake. I am 100% truthful, and I have come to notice people do not always like the truth, but I tell it how it is. I'm a competitive dancer and am always, and I mean ALWAYS, at the studio. Along with the dance portion, I am also a dance assistant, its not the best paying job but it is fun. (:

Lets see... I love my family to pieces! I'm not kidding, most teenagers want to get away from their family, and move out of the house as soon as possible! Me, on the other hand, I refuse to go away to college for many reasons. One, because my mom will not let me, I would not be able to stay away from my family that long, and I want to be a part of my siblings lives since there is such an age difference. I never leave my house, Friday nights are basically family nights and I love it. My brother Carson has changed my life, tremendously! He was the one who changed me being an only child (which I miss at times...) and brought all the laughter into the house! He is a crack up and my favorite five year old, EVER! My little sister, Molly Jayne, is currently in China waiting for us. (: I think about her everyday, when I'm home alone I go into her room and sit on her bed and just imagine how life will be with her. I cannot wait for her to join our family!

I think I've covered most of my life and interests in this post. But, have no fear, I will post soon! (: Have a great weekend!

I also hated high school. I couldn't wait to get out and get on with my life, so I completely understand.

Driving is scary. I started out on back roads and worked my way up to busier roads. Don't worry, you'll get the hang of it.

Can I add you to my blog roll? You know there's blog on my roll that's by an 18 year old high school senior in Florida. You should check her out. She's very mature for her age too, as in a wise way, not in a wild, and worldly way-- so don't worry Teresa! Her blog is K... Is Not Your Average Girl. Her blog addy is http://mskelseyb.blogspot.com/ If you visit and comment, tell her that I sent you.

Meggie,
My daughter, who is a senior this year, doesn't want to go far away to college for the same reasons you just said! She wants to be close to home so Anna Grace and Abby don't forget her. So, she is going to a college just thirty minutes away----but is going to live there.

I am looking forward to reading more!! And, I'm adding you to my blogroll also. :-)

Taylor and I are anxiously awaiting your next blog post! She is looking forward to being a teenager and I am going to gain lots of insight on how to be a good mom to my "tween" from reading your blog :)

Sounds like you have high school all figured out. I would never go back for all the money in the world. I had about 2 or 3 true friends, but truthfully that's all I needed. I'm thankful to God as I believe He protected me from so much because of the friends he gave me. Although lots of middle and high school were terrible, and I felt completely lost, it's easy now to look back and see God's hand guiding me the whole time, so hang in there and look to Him everyday. He is faithful to all those who call upon His name.

Thanks for sharing your heart! It's awesome to hear anyone talk about loving their family so much.

Ditto on the fear of driving, that was me at your age! I turned 16 in December and finally agreed to get my license that next summer. I now drive just fine, so you'll be fine too! I'll be a Meggie-blog follower :) I love that you're not the average teenager, especially the part about how you tell it like it is...wish I would have had your guts as a teen! Can I put you on my blog list?? Please?

I didn't get my license until I was 18 because I was too scared!! Don't worry, it won't be scary forever. I promise!!

Meggie, you remind me soooo much of my daughter, Jessica! She is 26 and STILL hates driving!! She will NOT...WILL NOT drive on an Interstate!! She's fine driving around town, but absolutely REFUSES to get on an Interstate! And, my nickname for her is "Dorothy" because she has moved out of the house at least 5 times in the last 8 years, but ALWAYS came home ("There's no place like home...There's no place like home")! So, I call her Dorothy! Now that she's married (finally)..she won't be moving back home! I'm pretty sure she's gone for good this time!! Isn't it funny that she married a man whose nickname is "Tin Man"?! He works in sheet metal and that's his nickname! As for high school, just hang in there!! I don't know about being "the best four years of your life"....more like "the toughest four years of your life"! Hang in there, and stay focused on your dance! I know your mom is awfully proud of you!!!!!!!

I'm glad to see that I'm not the ONLY teenager who is afraid of driving. Thank you all for sharing your stories!

And Ms. Donna, I would LOVE to be added to your blog roll too! I'll add you to mine too (:

Meggie, I've really enjoyed following your mom's blog this past year - love how close your family is and how funny you all are. I hope my 2 young daughters will be just like you when they are teenagers! Looking forward to following your blog too, Wendy

Hey Meg! I'm enjoying reading your blog! Welcome, welcome! I loved high school (although I don't think it was the best 4 years of my life) and I absolutely couldn't wait to drive. I can't relate with ya on those points, but I do agree with others who've left comments that the best is definitely yet to come! Enjoy what you can and blow off the rest.

Hi Meggie, I just stumbled onto your blog and have enjoyed reading through it! I have a 15 yr old daughter who's a sophomore as well. She's a little terrified of driving, too. In fact, she DOESN'T want a care for her birthday! She was a competitve cheerleader until she ruined her knee last season. Now she's into a little bit of everything, especially anything to do with our youth group!

My daughter dreams of adopting children of her own from China some day. She really hoped to go on a mission trip with our church to China this spring, but...no teenagers without parents!

I hope you'll stop by my blog and say hi!
